Code of Conduct
The coordinators of the Southeastern Library Assessment Conference are committed to providing a positive and enriching opportunity for the open exchange of ideas and information. To create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, all attendees are expected to adhere to a shared Code of Conduct. This code is guided by principles of inclusivity, open-mindedness, collaboration, privacy, and professionalism.
Inclusivity
Treat all participants with respect and dignity.
Acknowledge and be respectful of the different viewpoints and lived experiences..
Open-mindedness
Listen attentively to others before responding.
Be receptive to feedback and willing to grow and learn.
Collaboration
Actively participate in discussions and encourage others to do the same.
Share ideas, resources, and experiences in a supportive and constructive manner.
Privacy
Refrain from sharing personal or sensitive information about participants without their explicit consent.
Professionalism
Use verbal and written language appropriate for a professional audience.
Refrain from personal attacks, offensive language, harassment, and any behavior that could disrupt sessions, discussions or the overall learning experiences of attendees.
Reporting and Enforcement:
If you witness or experience behavior that violates this code of conduct, promptly report it to southeasternlibraryassessment@gmail.com or through direct message on the online conference platform.
Conference organizers reserve the right to take appropriate action, including removing or banning individuals who engage in disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful behavior. Users that are removed due to such actions will not be issued a refund.
These guidelines were adapted from codes of conduct published by Forward Libraries and the Conference on Academic Library Management.
